OUR CONCEPT
PANKO is a non-profit NGO, that selects, educate and trains children at the age of 6 – 17 from the rural areas of Tamale. The children are subdivided into four different groups, based on their skills, education and process of learning, which is tested weekly. Besides the educational approach, PANKO also gives the children a hot meal before the lessons start, technology training, the opportunity to engage in sports and nonviolent-communication-trainings. Besides that, there are many other individual tasks to give the children the opportunity to follow their interests.
THE CHALLENGES
Rural Areas all over Africa (e.g. Tamale, Ghana) often have very poor educational infrastructure, few job opportunities, and consequently high levels of unemployment, low social mobility, as well as little opportunity to move out of poverty.
Especially education is still a rare good in Ghana, to which only the privileged have access. PANKO has the aim to give all children an education, which allows them to reach their full potential and consequently their dreams.
OUR FIELDS OF EDUCATION
Teaching the children technology skills and introducing them to the digital world to give them crucial qualifications for their future careers.

For a break between all the educational sessions PANKO wants to give the children the opportunity to participate in Sports and learn working as a team.

YOUR MISSION
As a part of the PANKO Team your mission is to teach the children in one of PANKO‘s fields of education. You want to mentor them, share your skills and most and for all show a new culture and aspect of the world they have never seen before and so bring joy to them with your presence. No matter in which field you will teach, your final goal is to enable talented and motivated children to fulfill their potential and reach their dreams.
COURSE OF YOUR STAY
...you will get to know the Dagbani culture and ways of living. Our PANKO team will show you local sights, museums, villages and workshops.
IN THE MORNING

...you will go to the PANKO Youth Center, help preparing meals for the children and participate in teaching
them.
IN THE AFTERNOON
2
...you will have the possibility to take daytrips to other cities, like Yendi, accompanied by our PANKO-Team or engage in sport activities with the PANKO-Children.
ON WEEKENDS
